Maybe a bit more detail than you needed for a simple sewing kit, huh? ;-)
Have a great rest of the week!
Cheers!

Ok, only one more post about the laundry area, I swear! ;-) I just thought I would show you a little detail of my DIY Sewing Kit that I put together specifically for this area: Having to lug out my huge sewing box from the studio when I only need to sew on a button or tack a hem seemed too laborious to me, especially when I'm just trying to get the laundry done. I tend to keep (hoard, doh!) empty containers, jars, bottles, etc. Hey, you never know when they will come in handy! This is one instance where my pack-rattiness paid off! I happened to have an International Coffee tin that turned out to be perfect for this little project: All it needed was a pin cushion top and some scrapbook paper goodness. I broke out my trusty glue gun and got to work with items from my craft stash. I covered the plastic lid with batting and a piece of scrap fabric using my low temp glue gun. (I wouldn't recommend using a true hot glue gun on these lids, it would melt right through!) I then glued on some coordinating scrapbook paper and Voila! Cute, useful container. Of course, I HAD to add a label. (My labeling obsession continues...) Next I raided the big sewing box and chose a few items to complete the kit: I also found a tiny Altoids box that is the perfect size for needles! (YAY for hoarding containers!) A few choice thread colors, some miscellaneous buttons, a thimble and a measuring tape from Ikea help round out the kit. Oh, and I cannot forget to mention my folding fish scissors! I have had these forever and I think they used to be in my tackle box when I was a kid. I think...
